28A – Your Exit Strategy
My Exit Strategy
I have been thinking about my exit strategy since the first beginning because it was apart of my business venture.
- The product can continue with or without me
- The connections that I have chosen will support the companies growth
- Materials are Eco friendly
- Made sure the product will be in demand.
Exit Strategies:
In my business venture I was planning on working on it for some time before selling it to the University of Florida. It is something that I would like to move on from, and hopefully it would benefit the school, students and staff. I would like to move on because I feel that they're other projects that I can work on that needs improvement. So, I would work on the project to the best of my ability and eventually sell it.
Another exit strategy is staying on the business venture and working on it to improve the business. Their is always room for growth in the recycling and waste business. It is also a business of bettering the employees work condition. So this is a business venture that will continually grow and need improvement. If I can grow the business to where I can leave a legacy I will.
Reflection:
I think the first type of exit strategy that I chose to use was considering the product could stand on it's own. From the connections I have chosen, to the materials I have chosen to use, I have made sure that the company would be funded, looked after when I am gone, and that the materials are energy efficient. In the second approach I chose the business will still be able to stand without me, but I have also made it clear that it will always need improvements for the economic and social changes that happen on campus.
Although I had decided to walk away from my idea, I commend you for being honest enough to admit that you needed to work on your idea before you did anything big with it. This will 100% benefit the University whether it is implemented now or later in the future and it is great that you have the opportunity to do whatever you want, whenever you want with this product.
ReplyDeleteThat’s such a smart exit strategy! It’s going to be so beneficial to the University of Florida to own your idea and to help expand it. You started this opportunity from the ground up and it will continue to flourish long after you sell it to UF. Great job!
